Welcome to the home of the Phat 'eds, Sheffield University's Ultimate Frisbee team! We're a friendly, dedicated group that train three or four times a week and compete in beginner, regional and national uni tournaments. We have weekly socials and even our own football team, MUFF. Whether you're a GB junior or have never thrown a disc in your life, come along to a training session during freshers' week and have a game with us! We're always looking for new talent and love introducing people to the best sport there is.
Ultimate is a self-refereed, limited-contact team sport played with a 175g flying disc. The object of the game is to score points by passing the disc to a player in the opposing end zone, similar to an end zone in American football or rugby. Players may not run while holding the disc.
Phat 'eds compete in 5-a-side indoor and 7-a-side outdoor tournaments in open, mixed and women's divisions throughout the year (and, if you're lucky, a beach tournament on tour).
